AC Milan signed Youssouf Fofana from AS Monaco during the summer transfer window but they are planning a further investment, and Samuele Ricci of Torino is reportedly a target.

According to Calciomercato.com, Ricci’s career path is going according to plan so far. After establishing himself at Empoli, he took an ‘intermediate step’ by joining a club like Torino, aware that it was a good club to grow at and then earn an even bigger move.

At 23 years of age he now has a spot in the Italian national team and is perhaps the main man for the Granata under new head coach Paolo Vanoli, and this is turning the heads of various clubs in view of the coming transfer windows.

Since his time at Empoli, Ricci’s name has been on the radar of all the top Italian clubs. Last summer Milan had included him – together with Roma’s Manu Koné – in the list of the main alternatives to Fofana.

It was a strong interest that then did not materialise in a negotiation because in the end the Rossoneri club decided to focus heavily on the former Monaco man and they got that deal over the line. However, the a new attempt at the end of the season cannot be ruled out, because he remains on the list.

In recent days Ricci has been linked several times with Manchester City. Pep Guardiola has a particular liking for players who have a certain type of football based on possession and intelligence, and the City Football Group are carefully following hm.

Urbano Cairo – the Torino president – signed him from Empoli for around €11m plus 10% on the future resale but now his value on the market has tripled. The midfielder is now focused only on the pitch, but there will be time to think about the jump to a big team.

  1. We should have signed him in 2023 when we signed a bunch of average players for cheap price (except for Pulisic who ain’t average) when his value had yet to rise too high or even this summer instead of Emerson and Pavlovic.
I don’t know about these rumors, but we’re not outbiding Manchester City for Ricci, or any player in particular.

    1. He is worth it for 25-30 (didn’t we pay 20m Borralaci, hope Ricci doesn’t become that), but for 20m more we could get Tonali back, just an opinion

  2. Instead of spending 20 million on three donkeys, why didn’t we invest in him?

Moncada is trash, he needs to go. At this point, I don’t know how any of the Cardinale Cucks can defend this…

    1. Even Maldini could have revamped this team with only free transfers but it didn’t happen, it’s not a Moncada issue, it’s just deeper than we see. If you ask me to take a wild guess, I’ll say money laundering

  3. We will never see Gerry and the RedBirds splashing out. They’re speculating on low risk, high reward deals or as Furlani explained why they’re doing it:

“I often say that in football people focus a great deal on price as opposed to value. Price does not necessarily equate to value. We believe that we have signed some good players that play our brand of football and will contribute to success for Milan, so the price tag is irrelevant in many ways.”

While I am against heavy and headless spending, these clowns can’t even get 20 million players right and built a non functional, mediocre team full of deadwood in two seasons for almost 200 millions. Now that’s a new level of incompetency we haven’t seen before here.
