CM: Udinese set €25m asking price for forward as Napoli join race with Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been heavily linked with a move for Udinese striker Beto but they will face strong competition to sign him, according to a report.

As Calciomercato.com report, it is Napoli who are taking concrete steps to sign the striker. The Allan, Zielinski, Quagliarella and Duvan Zapata operations show they have excellent relations with Udinese, and there could soon be another to add to the list.

The Partenopei have been following the performances of the Portuguese forward through their scouts for a year, and due to his physical and technical characteristics is considered a potential deal for the future.

Udinese’s request is around €25m, a figure currently considered high by Napoli but on which their sporting director Giuntoli is ready to negotiate, especially if Victor Osimhen were to be sold for €100m.

The idea is not to replace Osimhen with Beto, but rather if the Nigeria international leaves then several forwards will arrive. However, several Premier League clubs including Everton have scouted Beto, who has also been watched closely by Milan, also in need of a centre-forward for next season.

TMW actually reported recently that there were contacts in progress between Milan and Udinese over the 25-year-old, who is described as a ‘hot name’ for the upcoming market.

  1. For 20-25 mil I’d rather have Beto than any other striker Milan is being connected too, especially over players like Balogun and David.
He is tall, fast and technical. Very similar profile to Osimhen, only superior technically but inferior when it comes to motor, heart and grit.
Shouldn’t demand a high salary either, unlike Thuram, and there won’t be any need for adaptation to a new country, language, style of football.

    1. Yeah, we can give him chance to be the main striker, unlike at Napoli where he will probably be backup for Osimhen. 25m is cheap and he is 25, still has many peak years ahead of him.

  2. They should look into Ferran Jutglà from Bruges
He scores a lot but is not a tall player
    He’s only 1m75
(Can’t sempre milan do something like a sign in on the page , its annoying that you always have to put your name and email every time you want to post a comment…)
