CM: Unprofessional behaviour behind Rebic’s squad exclusion – the latest

By Isak Möller -

Ante Rebic was left out of AC Milan’s squad for the Juventus clash last night and it filtered that it was a ‘technical decision’ by Stefano Pioli. This afternoon, more updates have arrived on the matter.

It’s been a very tough season for Rebic, scoring just three goals, and he’s destined to leave Milan in the summer. It’s not exactly shocking that his motivation has decreased in the last few weeks, but it’s still alarming.

According to Calciomercato.com, Rebic trained with very low intensity in the training sessions leading up to the game, as opposed to his teammates. Pioli has always relied on the winger, but this time he chose to exclude him from the squad.

The unprofessional behaviour is another clear indication of where Rebic’s future is headed. He has suitors in Germany and Milan are hoping to capitalise on his departure, aiming for a decent capital gain which can be reinvested on the mercato.

    1. yes and before his fall in form (about 2 season ago) and injuries he had similar numbers as Leao has now.
And you know its not just Rebić who failed to find form in the atk department.. All players but Giroud and Leao failed to find form this season

      1. Yes but as soon as rebic started playing poorly and getting injured 2 seasons ago I thought considering his poor attitude proven in the Croatia squad that I don’t see him really recovering from his poor form as well how repetitive his injuries were so I thought we should take advantage of a team and sell him while they still think he’s a top player when he plays but I guess they tried to be loyal and patient and it didn’t pay off not saying it’s a horrible thing for being loyal to him but it sort of backfired

        1. It did backfire a bit. Guess they also kept him for his versatility. Milan is always looing for players that can play wing and st.
Hopefully if old sharawy comes he will have more of an impact

  1. Rebic scored 11 goals per season in first two season after arriving.
In last season he scored 2 and this 3 goals. Messias scored much more in right flank. So it is obvious the best position for Milan is sell Rebic for best possible fee and put Chaka Traore as Leao’s substitute.

    1. Primavera to serie a is a very big leap. Maybe let Chaka have a season in an adult league before relying on him as a squad player…

      1. True, despite the fact that he’s already played in Serie A (3 games with Parma when he was 16). It might be better for him to start for a Serie B team.

  2. Man, and he started so well. First game against Udinese he was all over the place. 2 goals and run like crazy ..and that was about it for the entire season

  3. Top player when in form. But sadly poor aditude. He did help this team a lot in the past years and im gratfull for that. However it seems its time to part ways. I heard that Lazio want’s him but it would be better to sell him outside of Italy, cause he might hit top form again and you don’t want to strenghten a competitor with a player like that.

  4. Why can’t we trust our primavera to the first team but we can trust other teams primavera to our first team. So our primavera are not good for serie A but Empoli primavera are good for serie A. Why can’t we promote our boys straight into the first team, is it a must that we must loan them?
