CM: Kamada still looking for a club – why his move to Milan collapsed

By Oliver Fisher -

Among the list of players who are still free agents, Daichi Kamada’s name is one that stands out and he was very close to joining AC Milan.

Calciomercato.com write that Kamada is still looking for a new club after his deal with Eintracht Frankfurt expired. The Japanese international had reached an agreement with Milan but the farewells of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara completely changed things.

The new Rossoneri management – led by Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada – decided to focus on Christian Pulisic as a possible attacking midfielder and thus abandoned talks with Kamada’s entourage.

In recent weeks, Lazio started working on signing Kamada after head coach Maurizio Sarri asked for him. However, in the last meeting that took place yesterday between the Claudio Lotito and the player’s agent Roberto Tukada, things did not go as planned.

Tukada asked for a contract worth €5m net per season for his client plus €5m in commissions and a signing bonus. The conditions were considered excessive by Lazio who decided to end the negotiations.

So where will he go? Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad are interested in Kamada and he has offers from Saudi Arabia. Roma were also keen but the salary demands were deemed too high.

  1. Maybe when he lower the side fee and also departure of cdk, krunic, origi, messias. We will sign him bc of low risk and potential capital gain next season.

  2. Milan should sign him and get rid of cdk on loan or something. In saying all that half the other names we are linked with I haven’t heard of before. The new CEO would want to be positive enough with these signings as Maldini didn’t last too long….

  3. So Besides Pulisic who else do we have, who can operate as an creative attacking midfielder, the answer is nobody, last year we struggled simply because we lacked depth

    1. romeros stats actually seems to suggest that he could do well there and it would also give him more opportunities to get fielded so i hope he will switch between being a back up for both right wing and cam role and maybe even left wing if absolutely necessary in the evnt of inuries for leao or okafor, but the runs he makes seem to be inwards through that area a lot of the time so it could be worth it in my view,

      Played as…
      Right Winger 18 1 –
      Attacking Midfield 4 1 –

  4. Everyone here thinks Kamada is the next Kaka in disguise lmao meanwhile everyone else doesnt wanna pay him fking 5m/yr

  5. We freed up the nonEU slot, but 5mil/year is too steep for Kamada. Does Pioli still want him? So far his strategy has been to bring in players that aren’t a reference point in attack. Kamada would be a focal point.

  6. Skip . We dont need him anymore if want to change formation 433 , even if back to 4231 we still have pulisic ,luka romero , bennacer as AMF , dont forget our most expensive player last season CDK . Better use that non eu slot for striker
