CM.it: Chelsea may test Milan with January Maignan bid face difficult operation

While AC Milan continue to try and negotiate a contract extension with Mike Maignan, a report has claimed that bids could arrive as early as January.

According to Calciomercato.it, the Rossoneri would like to extend the contract of the French goalkeeper but there are teams that are keeping a close eye on his situation, given his reputation as one of the best in the world.

Chelsea are the team that are mentioned above all as being tempted to make a move for Maignan, given they have not started the season in the best way and could make some additions in January.

Mauricio Pochettino has identified Maignan as the main target to strengthen the squad according to the source, considering the value of the Frenchman, but the operation is ‘bordering on the impossible’ especially in the winter.

Regardless of the offers that Chelsea may put on the table, Milan do not intend to lose their number one midway through the season. The Blues may test the waters with a bid, but it will be very difficult to bring the Rossoneri to the table.
