AC Milan have three games left to amass the six points (maximum) they need to qualify for the Champions League. It sounds like a simple equation, and it is, but everything else surrounding the club is far from straightforward.
Milan, as one of the big three clubs in Italy (and probably the biggest when it comes to worldwide coverage), are never far from the headlines. In the past few weeks and months there has been talk of stars wanting out, Massimiliano Allegri potentially leaving and management infighting.
That’s before we get to matters on the field, too. The Rossoneri are experiencing their most difficult patch of the 2025-26 season and right at the time when they wanted to finish strong. Allegri’s men have won two of their last seven games, and have scored once in their last five.
That wretched run has turned a potential Scudetto push into a battle just to stay above water in the top four race. From the big plans for 2026-27 and talk of ‘phase two’ of the Allegri project, Milan could be looking for a coach and sporting director all over again.
