Colombo admits ‘dream’ is to return to Milan and stay after loan spell

By Ben Dixon -

Following Daniel Maldini’s arrival at Monza, fellow AC Milan loanee Lorenzo Colombo spoke about what to expect from Maldini after joining the Biancorossi and his aspirations about a return to Milan.

In previous loan spells, Colombo has often tip-toed around cementing himself into a starting position for the club. However, in his time with the Brianzoli, he is beginning to take on the responsibility of a starting striker.

However, there is a lack of goals in his game. With only three goals and a singular assist so far this season, there needs to be an increase in his numbers if he is to play a part for Milan in the future. With Daniel Maldini joining Raffaele Palladino’s side, though, there could be a chance for the Rossoneri duo to benefit each other’s future and create a path to a return together.

Lorenzo Colombo spoke to calciomercato.com about welcoming Maldini and his dreams for the future about the Rossoneri, and his comments were relayed by MilanNews.

What can Maldini bring to Monza?

“At Monza, he brings quality and skill, then for me, I hope also many assists and many more chances.”

Dreams about a return to Milan

“To return to Milan? It’s a dream in the drawer. I’ve spent my whole life there. It would be the crowning achievement of something I’ve been doing for many years.”

  1. I like a good primavera product to make it as much as the next guy. But Colombo is not close to being bench material. I understand some of the CDK debates, but he should be sold and given a proper chance elsewhere.

    1. If Ganz, Petagna, Cutrone and other record breaking scorers at Primavera level couldn’t make it then I doubt this guy will.

Still breaking up, moving house, and changing jobs are supposed to be the most stressful things a person can do, and clubs regularly put their prospects through all three.
