Colombo responds to idea Milan could use him now: “I’m more comfortable at Lecce”

By Oliver Fisher -

Lorenzo Colombo has responded to the idea that AC Milan could use his service by stating that he is currently ‘more comfortable’ at Lecce.

Colombo’s loan spell at Lecce is proving to be a profitable one as he has now become a starter for them, amassing three goals and an assist in the last four games, and four total goals in the league this season with the most recent being a winner against Lecce.

The 20-year-old is certainly a player that the management will be betting on for the future given he has already made his senior debut, but for the time being Colombo seems to be in the right place to continue his development.

Colombo gave an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport and he responded to the idea that his parent club could actually use him right now given their injury problems in the centre-forward role.

“Milan could use a centre-forward? Right now, I’m more comfortable at Lecce,” he said (via SempreMilan.it).

“Right now my goal is to confirm myself. Last year I had a strong start, then I stalled. Now I want to continue doing so well learning from past mistakes. Over the years, establish myself as one of the best Italian players.”

  1. I like his attitude and self-awareness.
Milan youth system rarely produces any good attacking players or even midfielders, for that matter. Hopefully, he will be the one.

    1. Giroud has no pace at all and he’s been more than decent, there’s a reason Zlatan named Colombo Hulk, he’s strong as hell and we can use that.

    2. If hes good enough, hes fast enough!

If we have leao left and find a good, pacey rw, then a solid target man will be perfect in the middle.
Most of his goals are amazing, he has alot of talent

  2. I like this attitude. Price oneself first before you go to a bigger team. I’m glad he was aware of what he needed to fix fromast season….. continuity
