Mattia Liberali ended up choosing Como ahead of a return to AC Milan, much to the delight of the sporting director Carlalberto Ludi.
Liberali spent last season at Catanzaro, after leaving Milan on a free transfer, and he impressed with his creativity in the No.10 role. So much so that Gerry Cardinale and the Rossoneri tried to get him back this summer, knowing they would only have to pay €3m.

However, the prospect of joining Como was too enticing for the 19-year-old, who turned down his former side to work with Cesc Fabregas. Earlier this week, the ‘Here we go’ arrived for the move, with Milan left cashing in €3m.
A clear and attractive project
Although the deal hasn’t been officially announced yet, as the parties are figuring out the final details, the Como sporting director spoke about the player at an event last night (via MilanNews). He also made it clear that Milan’s competition didn’t bother them.

“We are not fighting with anyone. We are controlling our own affairs. Liberali is a player we want, he’s an Italian talent, and he’s strong. We think he’s ideal for Fabregas’ style of play and we believe he can develop with him and with us.”
Como has become increasingly attractive…

He’s only 19 it’s not like he’s going to spend his whole career at freaking Como… hopefully we’ll see him back at Milan in the future 🤞
The point is, Milan is doing such a p1$$-poor job of developing and holding on to their youth talent that they are all jumping ship…
I don’t understand this Liberali glaze…yes he is talented but some Milan fans are acting like he is the next Messi or Kaka, I seen him play for Milan during the friendly games last year and he was mediocre, also he never played in seria A so far and he is 19, he will become the next Baldazi.
I don’t think anyone’s calling him the next Kaka… the point is he’s a talented homegrown Milan player – probable star of the future Italian national team – who we let walk off to a direct rival…
At its core, there is a slight urge to see Milan have a core of Italian players who are top quality. Then u add the charm of coming through the academy and that he is white. It ticks the boxes for almost every fan out there. So it is an itch that people cannot help but cratch.
Expect more of this with the club trying to make the academy a top product. If someone comes through from there and he is even somewhat adequate and ticks most of these boxes they all will run cover for that player to be a starter over other better players.
There are other talented players like Comoto for example and he turned down Milan twice so people should just get over him.

problem is we let go home-grown promising youngsters like him, Malda, Kerkez, Bellanova, Simic (far better than odogu) too soon & easily for peanuts while we still holding useless overcost players such RLC, suckWC, nkunku & gimenez
I am milan fan but for recent years i think its good to see like liberali rejected milan for the 2nd time. Como already have clear project and if liberali come back to milan, its only for cardinale sweetener.

There’s a reason many of the promising talents are moving on from Milan. The club is awful at developing and integrating talent into the senior team. Where is Camarda these days?
If I was the owner of Milan I would make a personal project to steal as many young talents from Como academy is possible and interfere in all their transfer discussions just to artificially rise their prices. Why ? Because I can and to prove you can’t f***k with me. I wanna bring my boy back home and you interfere and take my kid. Well…prepare for my revenge
It’s not Como fault bro, Liberali literally rejected Milan twice so let’s just forget about him. Yes Milan needs to hold their young talents but the young players needs to love Milan too you can’t force someone to stay at the club.
