During his press conference earlier this afternoon, in view of the Lecce-Milan clash, Conceicao shared his thoughts on the current situation. Among other things, he called out the legendary manager Arrigo Sacchi for his contradictory comments.

The former Milan manager hasn’t exactly been too kind on Conceicao in the last few weeks, consistently highlighting the flaws of this Rossoneri side. Two months ago, however, Sacchi called the former Porto man ‘great manager’.

This is exactly the comment that Conceicao highlighted during his press conference today, proving why he cannot focus on what others think about his work. External parties are free to judge the situation as they see fit, but he must focus on improving the team.

From the inside, how are you experiencing this situation?

“We try to be very focused on the work. Zlatan and Moncada are here every day to do their best for the team. We have to focus on what we can control, outside they are free to judge. Sacchi said two months ago that I was a great coach, today he breaks me every day.

“He had great champions and he won, I even sent him a message and he didn’t answer me. We live in the moment, there is great respect, and people can say what they want,” he stated.

It remains to be seen if Milan will be able to bounce back with a win against Lecce tomorrow, and if Sacchi will be a bit more positive in his usual column. Without three points, it’s clear that the situation would take yet another turn, perhaps resulting in an early departure for the manager.
