Conceicao confirms Morata, Pulisic and Thiaw exited Como-Milan due to injuries

After the game between AC Milan and Como, Sergio Conceicao confirmed that Alvaro Morata, Christian Pulisic and Malick Thiaw all left the pitch due to injuries. Or at the very least discomforts that must be evaluated.

Pulisic was the first to throw in the towel following a challenge at the end of the first half. It looked like his ankle was the problem, as that is where the contact took place, and he immediately signalled for a substitution. Morata and Thiaw, meanwhile, were subbed off without obvious injuries.

Speaking to the media after the game, first to Sky and then at the press conference (via MilanNews), Conceicao confirmed that all three of them left due to injuries. He also stated that there seem to be muscle problems in general for the team, which isn’t ideal.

Is there a physical issue? Pulisic and Thiaw got hurt…

“Morata as well, he had a bit of a muscle problem and we decided not to risk it. We are evaluating everything on the physical side, we have to grow on this level too. If we want to have intensity we have to be at the top and right now we are missing something.”

On the extent of the injuries…

“Tomorrow, we will evaluate the injured players.”

Juventus are up next and while Morata will be unavailable anyway due to suspension, Conceicao will surely want to have Pulisic and Thiaw at his disposal. As always, we will have to wait until tomorrow for proper answers on the discomforts.

  1. Travel to Saudi Arabia, play 2 games, travel back to Italy, play 1 game every 3 days. All those games were battles into the dying minutes.
Great way to prevent injuries !!

    1. Yep. The calendar has become unreasonable. Even Guardiola talks about it. It’s a problem and the players needs to get together and do something about it because the FAs and UEFA are not going to because of the money they stand to make from additional fixtures.

    1. Seriously. The guy has proven effective for us, and works best in a 2 up top. Idk why he’s gotten no time this year, especially with how impotent our attack has been

  2. Sergio Conceicao is doing a good job, always coming back from a goal down. He knows how to motivate his team. Good job
    Forza Milan

  3. Bro the writing: “pulisic threw in the towel” as if he gave up because hes so weak and pathetic. its like constant negative nibbles and jabs every chance, at pulisic. Every news outlet does it, its crazy
