The next seven days will be decisive for AC Milan’s season, and the focus is on one man: Sergio Conceicao. If things aren’t up to scratch, a lot can be decided.
After the weekend’s loss, Milan are once again in a bit of a crisis. Not only are people worried about the season again, but there are larger fears about the future. Unfortunately, everyone is at risk it seems, and the pressure is on.
In fact, Tuttosport (via Milan Press) reports that the next seven days have to be perfect (or near perfect) for the Portuguese coach and also for the club. The games against Bologna and Lazio could be a catalyst for better or worse, and the pressure is really on.
If the club are to reach the Champions League, beating two direct rivals would be monumental for things, and confidence could be slightly restored in the team, coach, and general regime – a must considering how low the atmosphere is after the loss at the weekend.
For now, Conceicao remains somewhat secure in his position, but the Rossoneri ‘need a turnaround quickly’. If it does not arrive, then this decisive week could not just be big for next season in terms of competitions, but also for the coach.
milan’s midfield is weak, fofana is not playing well, felix is not looking like his career will be revived at milan, reindeer seems to be the only one contributing in midfield but not enough to carry the team far. we need a good attacking midfielder, felix is not it, liberali played really well as an attacking midfielder in pre-season and has been ignored since. waiting to see what the trio of Bondo, Fofana and reinjdeer or Bondo, Fofana and felix will bring in midfield or we not playing European football next year
What would have been equally “monumental” was beating little ole Torino last weekend when so many direct rivals stumbled. That is just math.
Excuses aside our midfield is a shambles. Not because of individual players but the simple lack of players. RLC has been unavailable for 2.5 months and Bondo for nearly a month. We let Benny go because he wanted out. But why didn’t we keep Zeroli?
It’s like Ibra still thinks in tactics when we need a strategy by which to field a team with a coach who is able to get his players to show up from the first minute.
