Sergio Conceicao is stepping away from AC Milan’s Fantastic Four after a poor first showing, and this means a formational change will occur.
After the defeat to Feyenoord, reports have questioned whether Conceicao would persist with the frontline that has brought so much attention in recent weeks, and it seems like he will.
Reports have suggested that Yunus Musah seems likely to walk back into the starting XI after serving his suspension, and this afternoon, Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that this much will seemingly be true, as can be seen below.
The team from that game in the Netherlands will remain unchanged barring one – Musah for Rafael Leao, who has lost his ‘light’ according to the papers recently.
It has been stated that the Portuguese was at risk against Joao Felix, and the latest reports point towards the winger losing his place rather than the Chelsea loanee, which has been a common idea in the past few days, though it shows that Conceicao is not afraid to drop the winger, like his predecessor was not.
It seems the Fantastic Four has become the terrific trio, and well Leao, well he can be the super sub for now, but he needs to earn this title to perhaps earn a place back in the side.

There’s other reports of going 4 3 3 and dropping pulisic. How do you bench either leao or pulisic who have been your two best players and start a loan player?
Easy. Unless you’ve been living in a cave for the last 5 months, or even the last 5 years, Leao walking around when we don’t have the ball, or dribbling into a wall when he has the ball, has gotten to the point where I think everyone is over it. Not unlike Fonseca’s benching of Leao earlier this season, this is a statement. Not only to the player, but everyone else. In fact, this could be a “a future without Leao” test. Leao and Theo may very well get sold this summer, and this is an opportunity to field a squad without one of them to show everyone there is life after Leao and Theo. Theo will continue to get starts because unfortunately there is no other real natural left back in the squad.
Felix starts because ostensibly he’s hungry and will do something different to Leao. Who cares that he is on loan right now? WE NEED POINTS and to get points we need players to perform. How can anyone think of “the future” beyond the end of the season? We need to qualify for the CL, and we’ll worry about the rest after. Otherwise we’re basically on the highway back to banter.
He still has 5 goals and 5 assists this season. He can sit on the bench every now or then but as long as we’re chasing wins we need our best players on the pitch, Leao included.
It’s Verona not Inter ffs…
our midfield is unbalanced… neither of Fofana or Reijnders are ball winners… we constantly struggle getting the ball back… also sloppy passes when the defense is too tight
How do you solve this? Musah sure, but 3-3-4 can also be a solution… fab 4 in front like Inter plays while the 6 players control the middle area…
Leao – Felix – Gimenez – Pulisic
Tiji – Fofana – Musah(but we’ll need Ricci)
Pavlovic-Gabbia-Walker
Theo can play instead of Leao, or Leao can be pushed more centrally from time-to-time… or Theo can go for Bastoni-like CB who perma pushes the ball up…
Reijnders Fofana is bad. Maybe against Verona it will be ok but we’ve seen it. We need 2 midfielders and really good ones in the summer. And people write bad things about Saelemaekers, but I’d take him over Musah any day. In any position honestly.
We should move on from Salaemakers and take whatever offer we get from Roma because they are the only club interested in him. Milan should sign Orsolini in the summer. Or get either Paixao or Adeyemi. Both can play right wing and left wing.
Man Paixāo looked soo good against us, he’s 24 apparently so not a totally undiscovered young talent. Only valued at €17m currently, could be a great addition.
Okafor looked better than him when he played against us a couple of years ago. Doesn’t mean a lot if he doesn’t play like that consistently
Orsolini? Ok. Sottil is probably better than him.
Cannot believe after all this money spent, including January, this team has no functional midfield to play either 4231 or 433.
This is one epic fail.
Isn’t it insane??
Benny kind of screwed us, once we get Bondo in the rotation things will hopefully improve. And uhhh… RLC back from suspension? 😅 We desperately need someone like Ricci.
The only hope we have for a functional midfield since selling Bennacer is to hope a youth player can step up.
Eletu seems to be the only real option. He is an excellent footballer but is not quite physically developed enough yet. Then Maino for Man Utd is not the most robust so perhaps its worth a try.
Bondo might be fit for this game. Let’s see what he brings. But yeah, we’re missing something in midfield.
I don’t think throwing teenagers into a pressure cooker is the answer. Has Camarda scored yet? No. He belongs in Serie C full time, or Serie B at most. Instead he’s wasting time not getting regular minutes behind first Morata and Abraham, and now Abraham and Gimenez. Jovic can be the no. 3 guy in Serie A. Camarda can join the CL squad if one of Abraham or Gimenez is injured or suspended.
I don’t disagree with you. Hopefully Bondo can help stabilise things. The point I’m making is for CL where we are down a man in midfield since the mercato
The way they built this team is like building a Ferrari without an engine, it’s that big of a fail. No midfield presence at all. They have attackers and sometimes a sweeper if Fofana sits back but if he goes forward no one takes his place, and then the defenders. There’s no substance. We’re going to sit on the ball, pass it around the arc with no penetration and everyone will try to do it all themselves then we’ll get countered, I can see it coming.
Yes 💯
First, Musah is not a winger. HE IS NOT A WINDER!!!!
Felix offers nothing on defense as he is too busy waving his arms at the ref. I understand Leao is hurt so not playing him makes sens. 4-3-3 with Pulisic, Giminez and Chuck or Jimenez up front. Musah, Tj, and Fofana as the midfielders. Start playing a formation that you can use going forward.
WINGER!!!! LOL
or play Felix on the left.
Bondo is better than fofana time will prove it.fofana very poor player
Jimenez and Musah should take spots off of Theo and Leao for Verona.
Could as well give a rest to Fofana/Tiji with Terra coming in midfield and Gabbia taking up one of the CB spots
Let’s play 433 with two eights of reijnders and felix. both should be given a license to go forward but one at a time. for example felix can play i double pivot allowing reijnders to go up, or vice versa. Off possession must be strictly 433 mid block tijji on the left and felix in the right
Gimenez
Pulisic-Felix-Chuku
Musah-Fofana
Theo-Pav-Thiaw-Walker
Second half whether winning or (most probably)losing
Sub Pulisic-Felix-Chuku for
Leao-Tiji-Jiminez
Then Fofana for
Gotta love how clueless these football journalist are.
That feels like Ancelotti’s Christmas tree formation.
4-3-2-1. I just don’t understand playing Tiji and Felix together. They naturally occupy the same space. Unless Felix plays on the left and Puli on the right with Santi up top.
Since childhood, since I watch football until today, I learned this axiom: teams that do not have a stable 11 for 2-3 years, will never perform. Without a stable 11 there can be no playing relationships, the team does not function as a unitary whole and has no continuity in achieving results. This has proven to be so true in the history of football that it has acquired the value of axiomatic truth.
Conceicao mainkan pemain cadangan seperti sottil, terraciano, chukuwaze dan cadangkan fofana, pelusic.
I believe both of Theo and Leo must be benched
I knew he wad living since the day maldini was sacked… same day he lost motivation and forgot how to play (with rare display of skill)
