CM: Conte has Milan on list of preferred options for next job after Spurs exit

After days of speculation following his public outburst against the club, it was confirmed last night that Antonio Conte has left his role as head coach of Spurs.

Tottenham confirmed the news on their official website that Conte has left via mutual consent and his assistant Cristian Stellini will manage the team until the end of the season, supported by Ryan Mason, while various options are being considered for next season.

According to Calciomercato.com, Mauricio Pochettino is the favourite now Thomas Tuchel has chosen Bayern Munich, but on that theme Julian Nagelsmann could be an option too. Roberto De Zerbi is flying with Brighton and could be a good fit, while Luciano Spalletti may also be considered.

Regarding Conte, he has made it clear that he wants to return to Italy to be close to his family, perhaps living between Milan and Turin. Therefore, it is no coincidence that he has three preferences for his next job: Inter, Juventus or Milan.

Areturn to Inter could materialise due to his relationship with Beppe Marotta, but the coach would want guarantees of ambition that the owners might not be able to match, while Juve hold a place in his heart and he would go back regardless.

Milan are the most complicated track, but it is no coincidence that Conte spoke well of the club during their meeting in the Champions League. However, the Rossoneri have a plan that is very similar to the one he is abandoning at Spurs, promoting financial prudence over big spending.
