Agent confirms Milan defender ‘will leave in January’ after falling into ‘oblivion’

The agent of defender Andrea Conti has confirmed that his client will leave AC Milan once the transfer window reopens in January.

Conti was sent on loan to Parma for the second half of last season having been bumped down to third in the right-back pecking order after Pierre Kalulu’s emergence, but they did not buy him permanently after suffering relegation.

Without a single minute of action to his name the 27-year-old is looking for a new destination to try and get his career back on track and perhaps also prove to the Milan management that they should and could have given him more of a chance.

Agent Mario Giuffredi spoke to a TMW reporter during the Italian Sport Award ceremony and was asked what the future holds for Conti, seemingly confirming that this will be his last full month at Milan.

“Conti will leave in January. It must be my next victory. He was the victim of injuries and too soon went into oblivion and I don’t like it. My next victory is to relaunch him. Genoa? No, I have something else in my head. Conti thinks that if he has a bit of luck he can return to the player he was,” he said.
