CorBergamo: Milan’s pursuit of Atalanta forward on stand-by due to asking price set

By Oliver Fisher -

Atalanta forward Josip Ilicic remains a target for AC Milan but they are reflecting after learning his price tag, according to a report.

Ilicic continues to be linked as a potential transfer target for the Rossoneri as they look to add some fresh blood to their attacking department amid doubts over the future of winger Samu Castillejo, and everything seems to suggest the Slovenia international will be allowed to leave given that his relationship with head coach Gian Piero Gasperini has soured.

This morning’s edition of il Corriere di Bergamo (via MilanNews) confirms that Ilicic remains in the sights of Milan, who are always looking for reinforcements for the attacking trident, but at the moment everything is on stand-by.

This is because the Rossoneri are taking time to try and reduce the €8m that is currently being requested by the Bergamo club in order for the 33-year-old to leave in the current summer window.

This Milan management are unserious they can’t even sign a player worth €8m.It’s time the fans start protesting because I don’t see Milan going anywhere.

60mm already spent, highest spending team in Serie A. No CL for 8 years. WTF are you talking about?

As long as we do not sell, we do not have money to buy. Every club wants cash these days, which we do not have. Moreover, decent players available as ‘loan plus option to buy’ does not exist. Milan’strategy: wait for the other clubs to drop the price tag of their players. It is the only strategy as we are not PSG…
