CorSport: Serie A side lines up loan move for returning Milan youngster

By Euan Burns -

Serie A side Salernitana are plotting a loan deal for AC Milan striker Lorenzo Colombo now that he is back at the Rossoneri, a report claims.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport (via Milan News), Salernitana are keen to swoop early for a striker that they think will be pursued by many similar teams this summer.

Colombo has been on loan at Lecce and the Giallorossi did choose to buy him, but Milan have since exercised their buy-back option straight away and he will return to the club.

He is on international duty with Italy’s U21s now but he will then come back to training with Milan and be evaluated before it is decided if he should go out on loan or not.

Given Milan are in need of strikers, it is not impossible to imagine him being kept around for depth, although a loan may suit him better.

  1. Not sure why we aren’t keeping him and Giroud as back-ups. How many more loan spells does he need? Can’t be any worse than Origi/Rebic, and we kept those two bums the entire season.

    1. ikr. just training with the team and getting to know the system and the players is worth something.
having giroud as a mentor is a big asss bonus. i dont see the downside

      1. Experienced players helps young players.
But he can only learn about positioning himself for the balls but he is not ball holding striker.
Keeping him in team, Pioli will never use him or will play him on right replacing Diaz.

Its better for him to work in small team and can play as striker for atleast 20matches in à season than being sub used only when all giroud/krunic/messias are injured
If he can score 15goals this season then he can come-back to first team & only if Pioli is sacked by then which is not in anyones mind right now.
