Corriere di Verona: Milan eases the pressure on Atalanta starlet – the latest

By Nikita Fesyukov -

After securing the services of Brahim Diaz on loan from Real Madrid and virtually completing Sandro Tonali’s transfer to AC Milan, Paolo Maldini continues to look for reinforcements on the transfer market. Atalanta’s Matteo Pessina initially seemed to be a target for the Rossoneri, but now the situation has changed.

Throughout the summer months, there were rumours linking Pessina to a move back to Milan. Numerous sources talked about a possible deal, from Calciomercato.com to Gazzetta dello Sport.

However, a potential deal never materialized, despite the Rossoneri having a 50% resale clause on the player obtained when the midfielder moved to Atalanta in 2017 as a part of the Andrea Conti deal.

Essentially that means that Milan could bring the player, who spent the year on loan at Hellas Verona, back for half of Atalanta’s asking price.

According to reports from Corriere di Verona (via milannews.it), Milan have eased the pressure on the player, as they are now focused on other goals. For this reason, the player is now closer to a return to Verona.
