The city of Milan appears to be concerned about the arrival of the Stade Rennes fans for the Europa League knockout round playoff match against AC Milan.
There are always certain security measures brought in when there are European matches, but according to Corriere della Sera (via Milan News), the fact that around 7,000 fans from France are expected to descend on the city means that special measures are being taken for the in-form side.
City prefect Claudio Sgaraglia has decided that alcohol will not be served in certain areas of the city to try and limit how much fans can drink in the build-up to the match at San Siro.
The ban will be in force from 08:00 to 20:00 on Thursday in the centre and surrounding area; Corso Como, Darsena-Navigli area, Sempione area and in the adjacent streets. While from 12:00 to 24:00 the ban comes into effect for the San Siro area.
The Rennes fan base have been causing some public order issues in France this season which is why these steps have been taken. It is not standard practice to introduce an alcohol ban for a European game.
On social media, the French fans have arranged to meet at 12:00 at the Arco della Paceda where they will move at 16:00 on the lilac metro line to reach Lotto station. From there, a 45-minute march will start to reach the away entrance of San Siro.
