CorSera: ‘Baby Milan’ to take the field against Udinese – Pioli relying on the ‘class of 1999’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will lean heavily upon the front four players tonight against Udinese as they look to make it back-to-back wins in Serie A.

As il Corriere della Sera writes (via MilanNews), Milan took home three key points on Sunday in the capital, but unfortunately paid a significant price in terms of injuries as both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Hakan Calhanoglu are out with muscle problems.

As a result, Pioli will rely on the ‘class of 1999’: namely Alexis Saelemakers, Brahim Diaz and Rafael Leao. Together with them will be Ante Rebic, who is going through a great moment of form as he has scored five goals in the last seven games. Tonight at San Siro we will see a ‘baby Milan’ again, who have already shown several times this season that they know how to win.

Tonight is a very important chance especially for Leao, who will play as centre-forward in place of Ibrahimovic and will look for his first goal since early January. The Swede will be out for 2-3 weeks and Mandzukic is still unavailable due to a muscle problem.
