AC Milan still remain determined to sign Sven Botman from Lille but they have an alternative target in mind, according to a report.
This morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) reports that despite Newcastle’s strong pressure on Botman, the Dutchman remains the first name on the wish list to strengthen the rearguard ahead of next season.
However, there is also a back-up plan in mind in the event that Milan do not manage to win the race for Botman. The alternative target is Gleison Bremer of Torino, who is regarded as one of the best centre-backs in Serie A at the moment.
Inter have been repeatedly linked with a move for the Brazilian but it seems as though Milan have not given up hope of landing him, especially if the deal for Botman were to become too expensive or he were to be convinced by the approaches from the Premier League.
