CorSera: Cagliari set high price for potential Scuffet loan

Cagliari have set a very high price for the potential loan of Simone Scuffet to AC Milan which could mean that the Rossoneri need to look elsewhere.

As reported by Corriere della Sera (via Milan News), the Rossoneri may have been scared away from signing Scuffet by the high demands of Cagliari who do not want the inconvenience of losing their keeper soon before the start of the new season.

Milan are searching for a new backup goalkeeper after Marco Sportiello suffered a serious injury that will see him miss a chunk of the 2024/25 season.

The Rossoneri sounded out Scuffet as an option to arrive on loan but the loan fee requested by Cagliari is higher than expected.

Milan are now looking elsewhere and one of the other names linked is Sassuolo’s Andrea Consigli, especially given they have been relegated to Serie B. Corriere della Sera claims that Milan are not currently pushing Consigli though, who has already turned down the advances of Monza.

Sportiello is the backup for Mike Maignan but he has undergone surgery on his hand after he suffered a cut whilst in his hotel room, meaning he is going to miss around two months of action.
