CorSera: Calhanoglu’s agent to meet Milan soon – huge distance between offer and demand

By Oliver Fisher -

The agent of midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is due in Italy imminently to meet Milan and discuss his client’s renewal, a report claims.

According to what il Corriere della Sera writes today (via MilanLive), agent Gordon Stipic will land in Italy in the next few hours, and this week a meeting is planned between the management of the club and the German which will presumably take place at Casa Milan.

Milan have made their first official offer to renew the contract of the Turkey international: €3m net per season for four years, plus bonuses to be included in the agreement.

It is rather low offer compared to the requests of Calhanoglu and his entourage, who asked for €7m net per season weeks ago to sign the renewal.

The distances are wide between offer and demand, but first of all there is the will to negotiate and seek a compromise. Milan want to keep the player if at all possible, but on the other hand they do not want to make a huge financial commitment in such economically challenging times.

It will not be a decisive meeting in the next few days, but it will certainly suggest a lot about Calhanoglu’s fate.
