CorSera: Cardinale moves full speed ahead with Milan stadium – Inter in the dark

By Isak Möller -

Gerry Cardinale is moving full speed ahead for the new stadium and he’s not taking Inter with him. In fact, he hasn’t had a single meeting with the Nerazzurri, fully focused on giving AC Milan their own home.

As reported by today’s edition of Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews), Cardinale and Milan have set their sights on the La Maura area. In a couple of weeks, the preliminary plan should be presented and only then can the process start.

Inter, as the newspaper continues, were caught off guard by Milan’s moves and might be forced to seriously consider the Rozzano area. The shared project has not been officially let go from Milan as they want to know for sure they can move forward with La Maura, but it sure is fading.

That’s why Cardinale has met with Milan mayor Beppe Sala and Lombardy president Attilio Fontana two times each in a very short period of time. He wants to have the highly-ranked politicians on his side so that a council-region program can be signed, which would speed up the process significantly.
