CorSera: Donnarumma and Calhanoglu want pay rises – Milan unlikely to satisfy one

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan face a delicate situation regarding the renewal of two of their star players who have contracts expiring in June 2021, a report claims.

There is no question that goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu have shown themselves to be absolutely vital cogs in the machine that has seen the team explode under Stefano Pioli since lockdown.

Regarding the renewal of Donnarumma, il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) explains on Friday that his agent Mino Raiola will ask for a significant pay rise in order for his client to pen fresh terms.

The Milan management are ready to make an effort, but not it will go beyond €7-8million net per season, given that would make him the top earner and he is already currently on €6m-a-year.

With regards to Calhanoglu, the Turkey international has asked for his salary to be doubled from the current €2.5million net to €5m, but Milan are unlikely to satisfy his requests.
