CorSera: Fonseca has exhausted post-derby credit – the four potential replacements

After the Derby della Madonnina, AC Milan were a team on the rise, Paulo Fonseca was beginning to work his magic, and things as a whole looked more positive. That is no longer the case.

Milan are already entering a dangerous cycle, and it is a situation that they have been in before. The Rossoneri are already asking questions of Paulo Fonseca again, and it seems frustratingly similar to last season.

Looking back to last season, Stefano Pioli was often in and out of a job, and on several occasions he was one loss away from losing his job. Already Fonseca seems to be entering this cycle.

Before Inter, he was one game away from the sack, and after the Fiorentina loss, Corriere della Sera (via Radio Rossonera) suggest that he is potentially in a similar situation, with the team ‘unable to get into gear’ making the air at Milanello heavy once again.

For this reason, the situation is being ‘monitored’ and Tudor, Sarri, Terzic and Allegri’s cards lie on the table. Whilst there is no desire to make such a strong decision yet, the club is not satisfied. Fonseca will have a chance to turn the tables, but a different Diavolo must return, rather than this weekend’s.

  1. Tuchel is the only name to be 100% sure to raise the level. He comes with a credibility that players cannot ignore, he has won way more than all Ac Milan players. He is a flexible coach able to adapt to the players, he plays agressive football but was able to win a Champions League witn a more reactive team
and switching to back 3. He does not speak Italian but we almost have no italian players
and he worked in multiple countries.

      1. I have been following Pulisic’s time at Dortmund and Chelsea.
In the game preceding the 2021 Champions League cup win for Chelsea, Tuchel promised Pulisic that he would start in the final with Manchester City. He promised Pulisic a start as a reward for Puli scoring a goal resulting in a tie with Real Madrid. Tuchel went back on his word and Pulisic did not start in the final. Tuchel treated Pulisic like crap at Chelsea. If Tuchel is hired Milan can say good buy to PULI.

    1. Klopp promoted Pulisic at Dortmund. He is an admirer of Pulisic. Tuchel treated Pulisic like crap at both Dortmund and Chelsea. Hire Tuchel and say good buy to Puli

  2. So today the scapegoats are Fonseca and Théo.

Just notice that when we had a classy management and coach, the players were playing mostly well and with no drama. Now that the management is filled with arrogant idiots and that the coach is a no name trashing his players in the media, the players are reckless and undisciplined.

      1. Oh no man I was here last season for the rollercoaster, when the fault was on Maldini, Pioli, Tonali, Maignan, Calabria. Now it’s Fonseca, Théo, Leao, Tomori. And the drama escalated quickly. I was told recently by a Redbird cheerleader that nothing is complicated and by another one that Milan is in the right direction. Alright, must be part of the show.

      1. I couldn’t disagree more. Maldini is the definition of class. Pioli never trashed his players in front of the media, nor the management despite being left on an island. Giroud, Kjaer, Tonali, we miss these guys. Even Zlatan was more composed when he came back as a player, before he started his new career in the entertainment industry. Now we have executives saying things like “we don’t Maldini anymore”, “Théo is happy”, “I’ll pack Leao’s bags”, etc. No wonder why the vibes are so poor around this team.

        1. Tonali the gambling addict is really a fine definition of class.
Do you even know what class is?
Tho I agree maldini did bring some class and respect into the club while he was here but it was negated by the scum he was surrounded with.
Pioli was and is a joke. He is a calm dude but he doesn’t have class and lacks ballz.

  3. Here we go again. Next week and a half the magic question. Who will replace fonseca.

And ofc the endless and pointless debates from the users on here who’s the best option.

P.S anyone who says max should stop watching football. You haven’t the elegance for it.

  4. I don’t see management firing Fonseca yet, maybe after Christmas. Personally, I feel like some of our longest-serving players are starting to act like prima donnas. This is why the team should have signed players like Hummels, who can lead in the locker room.

The players deserve all of the blame, in my opinion, and if this was under Conte, they would be punished. I think that’s what Fonseca has to do.

  5. You had the chance to bring in De Zerbi, someone that has proven on so many occasions to have good style of play but you preferred someone cheap like Fonseca. You think a miracle…lol. you need a coach that can control both Leao and Theo. Imagine Abraham on loan coming to take penalty from Pulusic. What a shame. I don’t blame him at all. I blame the coach for starting him. Shame to Milan
