CorSera: Frequent contacts between Gazidis and Rangnick the detonator at Milan

Misunderstandings, digs and differences. Paolo Maldini and Zvone Boban never really got on with CEO Ivan Gazidis. On the market, for example, they always seemed to have different ideas, which interfered with the work.

However, the incident that resulted in the total eruption of their professional relationship doesn’t have to do with the transfer market. As Corriere Della Sera reports (via MilanNews.it), it was Gazidis’ decision to contact Ralf Rangnick.

The newspaper describes this as the detonator. Maldini and Boban felt betrayed as the contacts took place without them knowing, resulting in the Croatian’s directors comments to Gazzetta Dello Sport yesterday (read here).

The truth is that Rangnick remains in pole position to replace Stefano Pioli at the end of the season. For Gazidis, he is the number one candidate, and contacts between the parties are frequent.

Along with the current manager, Maldini and Boban seem destined to pack their bags and leave the Rossoneri in the summer.
