CorSera: ‘Gazidis revolution’ to begin soon with Leonardo at risk

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan director Ivan Gazidis is preparing for a summer revolution at the club which could spell bad news for Leonardo, a report claims.

According to Tuesday’s edition of il Corriere della Sera, the former Arsenal chief is now ‘moving on to the practical phase’ of putting his own stamp on the Rossoneri.

The sacking of Carolina Morace as head coach of the women’s team is an example of this, given that she was specifically chosen by Massimiliano Mirabelli and Marco Fassone.

The report claims that the “Gazidis revolution” will also shake the youth sector from its foundations, with Mario Beretta – also hired by the previous ownership – set to be replaced by Angelo Carbone or Angelo Castellazzi.

On the marketing side of the club, Jean Sebastien Romagnoli is apparently set to return to Juventus.

However, the real shake-up could come at the end of the season, and it would not only be Gennaro Gattuso who gets the axe if a top four finish is not achieved.

Failure to qualify for the Champions League would see the club miss out on €50million extra revenue and slow down the entire project that Gazidis has in mind.

As a result, Leonardo would likely be another high-profile victim, the report concludes.
