CorSera: Hopes dented regarding quick return for Ibrahimovic – he will miss the next four games

By Oliver Fisher -

Today’s edition of il Corriere della Sera has poured cold water on the idea that Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be back on the field in a week’s time.

Ibrahimovic limped off in the second half after scoring a brace against Napoli, and the media reported that he is expected to miss two to three weeks, though the striker himself said he thinks he will miss a week or two.

The newspaper (via MilanLive) writes that the optimism shown by the Swede must be revised and recalculated, as it will take 12-14 days for him to return to the group and be back to full fitness, with the medical staff keen on being cautious rather than rushing him back and risking further damage.

That means that Ibrahimovic will certainly miss the next three games against Sampdoria in the league and against Celtic and Sparta Praha in the Europa League, as well as today’s clash with Fiorentina.

It seems now that the 39-year-old could aim to get back for Milan-Parma on 13 December.
