CorSera: How long Ibrahimovic is expected to miss and what Pioli’s plans are without him

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s victory against Napoli on Sunday night was a statement win, but one that came at a pretty heavy cost.

As il Corriere della Sera reports (via MilanNews), Milan will be without Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the next three weeks as he will have to recover from the muscle injury he sustained in Naples.

The Rossoneri will be missing their leader for five or six games as he will certainly miss Lille, Fiorentina, Celtic, Sampdoria and Sparta Praha. A hypothesis for his return could be on December 13 with Parma or three days later in Genoa.

The paper adds that Ibra will not return to Sweden to his family, but instead on Tuesday morning he will be at Milanello to embark on his recovery.

It will be up to Pioli to identify a plan B, and it is expected that Ante Rebic will play as the striker against Lille on Thursday, as he has already shown he knows how to play that role.

The Norwegian winger Jens Petter Hauge, who scored his first Serie A goal against Napoli, will find more space, as will Brahim Diaz.
