CorSera: Ibrahimovic tempted to renew contract with Milan – what it depends on

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could renew his contract with AC Milan for another season, a report claims, but it all comes down to one thing.

Today’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanLive) speaks about the situation of Ibrahimovic, who is apparently very tempted to sign a one-year extension and remain at Milan into his 40s.

The Milan management have begun talks with his agent Mino Raiola, but they were postponed as Ibrahimovic has decided to discuss his renewal in the spring at the earliest.

Around March-April 2021 – when there will only be a few months left on his deal – Ibrahimovic will speak directly with Paolo Maldini to evaluate whether to stay for one more season or whether to bid farewell to the Rossoneri.

There is a condition that presumably will be decisive for the choice of the 39-year-old: qualification for the next Champions League. The chance to play in an elite European competition at the age of 40 would be very tempting for Zlatan.

It will not therefore be an economic question, as already mentioned by Ibrahimovic himself, but his future at Milan will depend on his motivation.
