By the looks of it, AC Milan are heading for the umpteenth revolution this summer. After another disappointing season, CEO Ivan Gazidis is very keen on lowering the squad’s average age, adopting an RB Leipzig-style model.
As a result of this, the future is uncertain for several Rossoneri players, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The 38-year-old’s contract with the club will expire in the summer and so far, there has been no progress on the renewal front.
According to today’s edition of Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews.it), the Swede is unlikely to renew his contract. Currently in Sweden with his family, he’s reflecting on the future and it’s also possible that he could retire.
When Zvone Boban was still at the club, the renewal seemed like a real possibility. Now, however, it would be surprising to see Ibrahimovic wear the red and black shirt next season as well. Of course, we can always dream.
