CorSera: Ilicic remains a last-minute option for Milan as attacking search continues

By Isak Möller -

Milan are still looking for a playmaker on the market and with just over one week left of the market, time is running out. Fortunately, they have a backup plan and Josip Ilicic is at the centre of that.

According to today’s edition of Corriere Della Sera, as cited by MilanNews, Ilicic’s agent held talks with Milan over a move this summer. An agreement wasn’t reached but the Slovenian remains an option.

The Rossoneri are looking for a right-winger that also can play in the trequartista role, which is something that Ilicic can do. The same goes for Hakim Ziyech, who seems to be the dream but dealing with Chelsea won’t be easy.

Therefore, Ilicic could become a last-minute option for Milan if they don’t have anyone else come the final days of the market. However, this will only happen if the costs aren’t excessive, which they were deemed to be initially.
