CorSera: The reason Inter could beat Milan to the signing of Frattesi

By Euan Burns -

After the fight between Inter and AC Milan for the signature of Marcus Thuram, the same battle appears to be taking shape for Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi.

As has been reported by Corriere della Sera (via Milan News), the Nerazzurri could have the advantage in this battle which would lead to some embarrassment for Milan.

Thuram opted for the Inter move rather than Milan last week, although they have not yet made the signing official. Inter have been trying to sign Frattesi for a long time, whilst Milan have also held an interest.

Now that Sandro Tonali is on his way to Newcastle, the Rossoneri have upped their interest in Frattesi. There is a clear reason why he may choose Inter, though.

He has said in the past that Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella is his role model and the chance of playing with Barella at both club and national team level may be hard for him to turn down.

  1. We know he’s going to Inter just as soon as they offload Brozovic in a highly overvalued price to Saudi Arabia, which apparently should get sorted today.

        1. Well that is also a bit of a stretch considering Brozovic had the highest wage at Inter. He won’t even double it at Saudi Arabia, about 50% increase.

          1. It seems his agent is the one pushing for that move and Brozovic doesn’t know a lot about it. I saw this a couple of hours ago. 😀

Don’t know if you understand Italian, if not I’ll translate. twitter(.)com/FBiasin/status/1673029139236782080

    1. Highly overvalued lolllll. Inter is asking way to less imo, imo he’s definitely the best cdm in the league by a mile. Casemiro went for 70M, Neves from Wolves went for 55 lol. They could have asked a lot more and already closed it for days

  2. He is not worth more than 25M anyway. Carnevali is always overpricing all of his players asking at least 25% more than they are worth. That’s why he has such a hard time moving them. Just look at Berardi.

  3. Brozovic was excellent Inter player. Problem is who ever Inter sign they make excellent guess. Calhanoglu, for example.
For Milan it is too much to spend 40 million on 1 player. Ruben Loftus for 15 million is much better bet.
Inter will be lower quality team next season and d with the sale of Tonali we must make more competitive team.

    1. Definitely not lower quality, imo they are title favourites with maybe Napoli idk how they will do under Garcia. They have so much quality and Inzaghi stays. + they can invest all the money they get from sales now, not like the years before

  4. Now the club which is millions in debt is beating us in transfer market….by not only selling their players but utilising money accordingly. While we are in panic state looking for freebies…..there is huge difference between two clubs how they should be moving forward…..let’s put it in simplier term ac milan can not afford players who costs 30m plus the most they would aim for is 20m max….our vision is minimise losses if player don’t perform and maximise profits by selling them for good profit if they turn out good

    1. There is another side to this story… at the moment several clubs are being bailed out for decisions that should be ruining them at the moment by the Saudi Arabian state. Look at Chelsea, for example, who have somehow made 60-80m from players they’d struggle to give away for free a year ago.

Who knows, maybe Origi or Rebic would be up for life in Riyyad, but otherwise Milan don’t have the ‘big names’ from the past that the PIF seems to be paying big money for.

      1. What another side? Inter is selling Brozovic for 25M, if Barcelona had that money they would have already offered and signed him, but they can’t. How are Saudis bailing Inter by buying 1 player for his exact transfer value? 😀

    2. I would not agree with your analysis at all. Inter will only have more trouble coming their way if they continue the path. AC Milan you can say anything about it but financially it is one of the best managed clubs in the whole Europe. Good things take time my friend.

      1. The path is the one where Inter will be sold within’ the next 2 years, will have a great team and the new owner will be allowed to solve their debt as you have a grace period.

      2. Revenues are inter related with performances remember we have won league and champions league exposure which landed us the revenue generation…if we don’t invest we won’t be able to maintain this level and this will effect our revenue generation it will be us who will be worst off in the long run….what is happening with inter is they are considering sporting side above then all other issues. Thos moratta guy knows how to build team…inter owner are super rich they have billions of properties in dubai alone even if they sell some they can repay their loans but why aren’t they doing is beyond answerable…though least concerned about them it’s us who I want move forward and be dominant force in Italy and all …which so far we haven’t seen anything worth…we were already weakened by departure of kessie now tonali now the catch is rw and attack is already messed up we got a midfield to worry about…..the whole team structure is no where to be seen.

    3. Yes, the issue is that Milan doesn’t have players to sell. Inter does. For example they will sell Gosens, he was there for 2 seasons and they are not satisfied, goodbye. Milan doesn’t really have 15-20M players that they can sell since the team is so small, it was patched up with loans for a few seasons since there is no money.

  5. We know he is going to Inter. I also expect them to rub salt in the wound and get Kessie too……

Part of me hopes they do.. Cardinale needs the wrath brought down upon him. Even now I’m not sure he can even comprehend what he has done….Even with Tonali our midfield needed desperately reinforcing. Now we have sold the future captain and the one man who rolled his sleeves up in CL semi final….

    F’ck you Gerry!
