Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will stay at AC Milan. After a long negotiating process, an agreement has been reached for both and work can now start on the mercato, with a lot of lost time to make up for.
As was stated by today’s edition of Corriere Dello Sport (via MilanNews), the signatures really arrived at the last minute as Maldini and Massara accepted the new offer. The latter was put forward early yesterday morning and was enough to convince them.
It’s clear that Maldini didn’t get all of the power in the decision-making that he asked for, but he has been given better terms than the ones before. He will still have to report to a CEO which, until November, will be Ivan Gazidis.
With the renewals done, focus will now be put on the Mercato and it remains to be seen what Maldini and Massara will do. The likes of Marco Asensio, Hakim Ziyech, Charles De Ketelaere and even Paulo Dybala have been linked with the Rossoneri, eager to reinforce the team.
C’mon guys, time to get RW and AMC before all the targets are out.
