CorSera: Milan ‘a long way ahead’ in renewal talks with €60m+ midfielder amid Real Madrid links

AC Milan are in advanced talks over the renewal of Franck Kessie, according to a journalist from il Corriere della Sera.

The Ivorian has become one of the best midfielders in Serie A over the past year or so, taking his game to the next level in the double pivot and causing many to take note of his exploits.

Yesterday, Tuttosport (via Calciomercato.com) reported that Kessie’s value has skyrocketed after almost four good years at the club and above all the recent success. Should Milan decide to sell, his price tag would be €60-70m, with Real Madrid having begun talks with his agent.

According to Carlos Passerini of il Corriere della Sera, who spoke to MilanNews, the 24-year-old has gone from being an ‘average quality midfielder’ to a ‘European quality midfielder’. He adds that the former Atalanta man is a leader in the locker room and he is a player that Milan absolutely must renew.

“From what I know, the renewal issue is a long way ahead. I think there is great optimism on the part of Milan,” he says.
