AC Milan headed into the game against Cagliari with a lot of confidence last night and ended up claiming all three points. For the third consecutive game, they won by 1-0 and thus maintained their lead in the standings.
As stated by today’s edition of Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews), not only did Milan claim the win, but they also extended their lead on Inter and sent a big message. Indeed, Stefano Pioli’s men have shown how much they have grown compared to last season.
They are currently six points ahead of Inter and three points ahead of Napoli, but the season is still long. The habit of narrow wins is a peculiar stat but nothing significant, as the paper continues, as the Rossoneri didn’t play like it last night.
Many have compared it to the style of Max Allegri (last coach to win Scudetto with Milan) but it’s, frankly, not that close. Milan attacked from start to finish against Cagliari and had it not been for some incredible misses, it would’ve been more than one goal.
