CorSera: Milan and Pioli have reached an agreement in principle – includes pay rise

By Isak Möller -

Stefano Pioli wants to stay at AC Milan for a very long time and the club management has been very impressed with the manager’s work thus far. In other words, the parties see eye to eye on the future.

Pioli’s contract will expire at the end of the season and given how well Milan have started, no one thinks that he will depart then. In fact, some pretty strong hints have been dropped by the men in charge recently.

According to Corriere Della Sera, as cited by MilanNews, there is already an agreement in principle between Milan and Pioli for the renewal. In addition to a new deadline (perhaps until 2024), the manager will receive a pay rise.

He currently earns just €2.5m and that is very low if you compare with some of the other top managers in the league. The pay rise, therefore, will be well deserved but it remains to be seen when the agreement will be finalised.
