CorSera: Milan challenged to show their consistency against potential Serie A strugglers

By Oliver Fisher -

After earning a hard fought point against Juventus, AC Milan know they must take care of business at home against Venenzia tonight.

This morning’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) writes that Milan have been on an upward trajectory for virtually 18 months in terms of their growth but there seems to have been a leap in quality so far this season in terms of playing style.

A big part of how Milan are judged though will be their ability to pick up three points consistently against the teams who are expected to be in the bottom half of the table come the end of the season, starting with Venezia at San Siro tonight.

However, head coach Stefano Pioli will be without several players this evening, especially in attack where both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud will again be missing. The home is that at least one of them will be available for Saturday’s game at Spezia, another important one in the scheme of the season.

It is true that in Serie A there are no simple games, but it is undeniable that if there is a moment to try and get six points to get some momentum ahead of facing Atletico Madrid and Atalanta, this is it.
