CorSera: Milan dispel Allianz Stadium taboo – Pioli makes no mistakes as UCL draws closer

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan recorded their biggest win of the season on Sunday night as they toppled rivals Juventus 3-0 at the Allianz Stadium.

As il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) writes this morning, it was the most important match of the season because it was a Champions League play-off and therefore a game that the Rossoneri could not slip up in, and they did not. Milan beat Juventus 3-0 last night and took a very important step towards qualifying for the top European club competition.

Nothing has yet been decided, but yesterday’s victory at the Allianz Stadium also allowed the Rossoneri to overturn the discourse of direct clashes with the Bianconeri after the first leg it ended 3-1 for Pirlo’s team.

Milan proved once again to be a real team unlike their opponents, going beyond difficulties and limits. For the first time in history, the Diavolo left the Stadium with the three points in their pocket, and it was a victory in which head coach Stefano Pioli made no mistakes in any choices, such as fielding Brahim Diaz from the start.

Given the importance of the match, there was a lot of tension on the pitch and for this reason the match was not spectacular, but Milan absolutely deserved to win and showed that they wanted to finish in the top four at all costs. As Pioli explained in the post-match, now the Devil must not waste the excellent result and must follow it up in midweek.
