CorSera: Why the Milan dressing room was subdued after Lecce win

The mood inside the AC Milan dressing room after the win against Lecce was subdued following after Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s latest injury, a report claims.

Today’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) reveals the behind-the-scenes story on the game between Milan and Lecce, in particular what happened after the full-time whistle when the players walked off the field.

The paper writes that despite the win there was little desire to celebrate as everyone was very sorry for Ibrahimovic’s new injury, realising that his season and therefore his Milan career may already be over.

Ibrahimovic sustained a calf problem while away with the Swedish national team and had been working hard to return, getting a call-up for the squad to face Lecce.

He was warming up to come on in the second half when he felt further discomfort, which has turned out to be a new calf problem that will set him back further.
