CorSera: Milan begin right winger hunt – Real Madrid and Sassuolo duo on the list

By Oliver Fisher -

One of the areas that the AC Milan management know that they must strengthen this summer is the right wing department, and a couple of targets have emerged.

Both Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers have been inconsistent this season, with a cycle developing whereby one would be the starter but would disappoint, the other would show some bright signs and take the spot of the other, but would then also drop off causing them to be swapped again.

Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) writes that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara know a right winger is needed, one who can bring goals and assists to the attacking department and reduce the burden on the left flank.

Marco Asensio will leave Real Madrid on a free transfer and he is admired by the directors, as is Domenico Berardi who could finally depart Sassuolo and has already pursued by the Rossoneri in the past.

Although there have been plenty of links in the media, it appears that a move for Nicolo Zaniolo of Galatasaray is currently unlikely.

  1. If they bring very good striker, and playing Kamada in ACM position, right winger can play CDK and Diaz (if is he going to be bought). Also Messias and Saelemaekers can be good back up options.
In now situation we need 1 or 2 good new strikers, Leao deputy, back up for Theo, and Kessie replacement. Right winger does have options if Pioli start to use CDK.

  2. I was waiting for the Berardi hype to start up again… I’d take Asensio over him or Zaniolo any day of the week but can’t see it happening.

    1. Maybe some people just are capable of experiencing joy?

Rather than worrying about the money, money, money, or pretending to be some master strategist, they just enjoy the thought of a hero – yes, HERO – who helped Italy win the Euros joining the club they support.

You know, because of football. The sport.

    2. Asensio isn’t coming. Zaniolo is injury prone. Berardi is a good alternative to Alexis and Messias combined.

  3. Anyone with common sense would know that Asensio would be the best purchase among all these names mentioned, but naturally it would be the hardest to acquire his services given the stiff competition.

  4. Berardi will be 29 this year. A lot of injuries, Juventini and clearly has something against Milan (look how he celebrates against us).
Try to convince Assensio to reduce to 5 mil and pay him high signing bonus.

  5. Barardi, the guy how played a huge role in Italy failing to qualify for the wc is definitely not for Milan. Overrated and Sassuolo will over price him by 200%

  6. Lol what’s with the Berardi hate? Great goals and assists every year. Worth our output on the right side combined

  7. Orsolini. 31 games, 11 goals, 4 assists this term. 269 games, 76 goals, 42 assists overall (including one season of Primavera). Compare to Zaniolo: 27/5/4 (10/3/1 at Gala, 17/1/3 at Roma) this term, 224/55/41 overall (including three seasons in Primavera). Orsolini valued at 10m (1 year left in contract) vs. 35m buyout for Zaniolo. Zaniolo with two destroyed knees already in his career. This is a no-brainer.
