CorSera: Milan want to keep Ibrahimovic but a pay cut is inevitable – the figures

By Isak Möller -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has recovered from his injury and will be on the bench for AC Milan’s clash against Napoli this evening. The remainder of the season, in fact, will be very important to decide his future.

The Swede’s contract will expire at the end of the season and a renewal will soon be discussed. He will take part in Sweden’s World Cup qualifiers and should they make it through, another year seems certain for the 40-year-old.

Milan, as reported by Corriere Della Sera (via MilanLive), want to keep Ibrahimovic for one more season but only at lower figures. He currently receives €7m per season (relieved by the growth decree) and that is too much for the Rossoneri.

Their intention is to offer him €2.5-3m plus bonuses for one more season and there will soon be a meeting between all the parties. It remains to be seen what the outcome of the situation will be.
