CorSport: Milan offer €12m for creative Hellas Verona star – player would arrive in the summer

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have made an offer to land Hellas Verona playmaker Mattia Zaccagni, according to a report this morning.

The position of attacking midfielder is one where the Rossoneri are quite well covered at the moment given Hakan Calhanoglu, Brahim Diaz and Jens Petter Hauge can all occupy that role, but as things stand the former two will not be at Milan next season as Calhanoglu has an expiring contract and Brahim is only on loan from Real Madrid.

Therefore, there has been some speculation that the management could try and swoop for a player to give them guarantees in that area, with Papu Gomez of Atalanta having been repeatedly linked.

According to il Corriere dello Sport (via TMW), yesterday’s overhead kick against Spezia has turned the spotlight of the big Italian club on Mattia Zaccagni, with Milan included in that.

There is a negotiation with Napoli, the paper claims, but Milan have made an offer of €12million on the plate and the possibility of leaving him on loan in Verona until June.
