CorSera: Milan want Fiorentina starlet Vlahovic as back up for Ibrahimovic – their strategy

By Isak Möller -

Although Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to stay beyond this season, AC Milan are scanning the market for a striker. After all, the Swede can’t play every game and the Rossoneri need to think about the future.

According to Corriere Della Sera (via Milanlive.it), one of the most followed and appreciated players is Dusan Vlahovic. This season, the Serbian striker has shown that he’s a great talent with even more room for improvement.

For Milan, the 20-year-old would be perfect as the back up for Ibrahimovic. Playing with the Swede, as well as Ante Rebic, could help Vlahovic grow and make the necessary leap in quality to become a top player.

Furthermore, Stefano Pioli likes the player a lot, having ‘launched’ him with the debut back in 2018 when Fiorentina faces Inter away from home. A profile, therefore, that is perfect for Milan and their project.

Fiorentina don’t intend to sell their talented players for cheap but the Rossoneri will try to initiate talks by including technical counterparts. They could include players such as Lucas Paqueta, Ricardo Rodriguez, Davide Calabria and Tommaso Pobega.

  1. Pretty sure this is baseless speculation as i do recollect fiorentina saying that they wouldnt even consider selling Vlahovic for less than 40 mil and to buy vlahovic at such fee currently frankly would be a gamble even if inserting a player into the deal. Besides of that i strongly suspect that the florence based club want cold cash and not some unwanted players of ours.
