CorSera: ‘More convenient’ option now Milan’s No.1 striker target

By Oliver Fisher -

Serhou Guirassy is the new favourite for the AC Milan management in their pursuit of a new centre-forward, according to a report.

After the weeks of links with players like Joshua Zirkzee and Benjamin Sesko, Corriere della Sera (via Radio Rossonera) claims that Guirassy is now the name that is currently top of the list.

Zirkzee and Sesko seem more difficult to sign due to the transfer fee that they would command, as dictated by their respective release clauses. This, the Guinean from Stuttgart is a ‘more convenient’ option.

The release clause to be paid is only €17m and CorSera have confirmed the meeting between the two clubs this week as the Milan management met their counterparts from Stuttgart to discuss Guirassy.

The 28-year-old scored 30 goals in 30 games across all competitions for the Bundesliga side this season, but there is some apprehension among supporters about the fact that this is his first high-level season.

However, the investments in the mercato will not be limited only to the striker. In midfield the Rossoneri leaders continues to evaluate the opportunity to sign Youssouf Fofana from Monaco, who matches the identikit of the sought-after defensive midfielder.

In defence meanwhile, Milan are looking for a central defender who can patch up the department that has appeared most in difficulty this season given the amount of goals conceded.

  1. I for one doesn’t mind us signing him even if i would have liked that we had signed sesko either at the start of last season or in the winter mercato.

  2. Artem Dovbyk, Alexander Sorloth, Pavlidis, and Morata (who is only available for 12m and only 31 and he knows Serie A) are better options than Guirassy. Sigh. I don’t understand what Milan are looking for in a CF and CB.

We sign Okafor who is a CF only to play him at LW most of the time. Smh

I hope this foolishness ends when Fonseca arrive.

      1. Yeah at least Morata has a bit of serie A experience and functions as a link forward (I too would not like to sign Morata)

It’s unsurprising that the board is looking at the cheaper options, ultimately that’s the moneyball way. But I’m hoping that it’s a smokescreen for Zirkzee as his clause is €40mn, I appreciate Seskos increased clause has put him out of our pricerange.

Looks like we’ve missed out on De Gregorio if we were thinking of selling Maignan, I hope we don’t miss out on Zirkzee teaming up with Motta at Juve.

Season has barely ended so let’s stay positive that Ibra will convince the board we need quality additions.

        1. Exactly!! Di Gregorio is a fine example where we always keep found with our pants down. Milan needs to do proactive work instead of just reacting. Too late to get good players if you only start planning for the squad the last week of mercato. FFS. Even children know that.

  3. We need zirkzee, sesko or david who is still young and with years left to their prime.Guirassy is 28 not the right no.9 atleast not only him.Guirassy+zirkzee is good

  4. Floppity flop… And some people think Piatek was a flop. You ain’t seen nothin’ yet. So fking sad. Guirassy. FFS. Why not rely on Colombo? Oh right, he’s Italian. Well… How about Origi? Let’s see if this guy makes us want Origi back. 😛

    1. Shouldn’t you flop first before you getting called a flop?
He has scored 30 goals this season. You might be able to call him a one season wonder but what makes him a flop? Can you see the future?
      Why not rely on Colombo?
Because Colombo is trash? He barely even plays for Monza but Milan should rely on him. 😂

    2. I have nothing against colombo or italians as ive always been pretty clear that i would prefer milan have at least 2/3 of our players being iutalians at least in the future but come on Guirassy has scored 79 goals in the last 4 seasons.

      1. there are still italians that would perfectly fit in the Milan team

        Parisi as a LB/RB
He had a good season at Fiorentina

Retegui, Scamacca , Raspadori – one of them as a striker (all of them would be probably cheaper than buying Zirkzee, J.David or Sesko)

        Buongiorno or Scalvini as CB

Berardi as RW or AM (as Sassuolo has been demoted)

Locatelli as DM (he is cheaper now and at the right age) or Samuele Ricci – another player with a good season as a DM

and finally Di Gregorio as a GK

ofc..I would’t buy all of them..there are just options of good italian players, that would fit

Sadly..most of them are already being acquired like Di Gregorio by Juventus etc while Milan is on the verge of selling Maignan as they won’t pay him what he wants (looks like another Donnarumma story)

        1. I dont mind several of those players but i wouldnt even want locatelli back if he came for free. When that is said italian players are often more pricy than buying equal talents from abroad so for the short term i can live with not so many in the team but i cant say i like it either,

        2. to be fair i would take scamacca, bongiorno, scalvini and berradi if his price is low enough like 10 mil or below as he is currently injured untill october. There is no guarantee he will be back at former levels after that injury but for below 5 mil or something then id take him because he is a leathal player or at least has been previously and they just got relegated. I suspect he will stay there though and clubs doesnt buy injured players, The first 3 players though will most likely cost 35-65 mil each. scalvini, probably 65 mil or something, bongiorno 40-45 mil and scamacca 35 mil and i doubt that is feasible for us.

      1. He’s also Italian so he won’t be even considered as an option. And yes, he wouldn’t be good enough for Milan so I don’t even need to do the “flop” prediction.

I like the guy but let’s face it. He’s no Giroud. Or even Cutrone.

  5. I’d make a pikachu face if Milan in fact would sign a striker that would costa big fee.. its just not gonna happen. Even 30M signings is pushing it

  6. no suprise here
buying only cheap and not even the right players
(Dovbyk, Morata…hell even if he is a bit more expensive then Sesko would be great)

one more advice..sell Camarda to Barcelona
There are players like Fermin, Yamal who get their chance to play at a very young age
He is a very talented player..would be a shame if he stays at Milan where he won’t really play

    1. Play where in the first time at his age .. even the likes of colombo , pobegba, cutrone matric were all loaned out .. he is just 16 and still need to learn and grow with the junior side and move to the U23 .. we can skip is growth process cuz rhat might kill his career we can say same bout Manstor

  7. why Guirassy isn’t done yet?
u think they trying to get better option (Sesko/ Zee/ Pavlidis/ Gimenes/ David)?
if they struggle to get the cheapest, how can they get higher price target?
they waiting for cheaper option than Guirassy?
someone like Z/ Giroud/ Jovic kind of transfer.
    cz money is matter

  8. When we signed giroud then that season he was nothing better than guirassy is now, we all raised an eyebrow on giroud acquisition. But he turned out good. I’ll prefer this guy than buying someone who cant even score 20 goals a season. Pulisic was a flop giroud was loftuscheek also all flops, but potentials was seen in them due to their previous records. So I believe this guy can score in his first season 15 goals for Milan. Osimeh didn’t score more than 15 his first season in Seria a. Now he is world class. I’ll only be happier if we sign another proven striker with him

  9. It is too late for guirassy. Fabrizio Romano : Dortmund already in advanced negotiation over guirassy and player already agree term personal . Also di gregorio fix to juve ( same source) . ACM lost good potential GK if want to sell maignan
