Zlatan Ibrahimovic is driving a hard bargain when it comes to his potential return to AC Milan even though Gerry Cardinale and Stefano Pioli are both firmly in favour of it, a report claims.
As has been reported by Corriere della Sera (via Calciomercato.com), the former Rossoneri striker has been making it clear that he does not want to rejoin with a part-time or marginal role.

He wants to be a protagonist with a clearly tangible role at the club. That is something Pioli will not mind, as he feels having an ex-player of that magnitude will help to motivate the current squad, especially now that Paolo Maldini has gone.
Cardinale and CEO Giorgio Furlani have been tracking Ibrahimovic for weeks to get the deal done, it is now just a case of meeting Ibrahimovic’s strong demands in regard to the nature of the role.
He so far seems undecided about the situation.

I would like Zlatan to be in the role of Furlani posses. Not just à mentor etc.,
That doesn’t help, he can bring some good players even to fire Pioli only Zlatan can do this.
And he can only be the guy that Milan needed with this ownership who can balance on both sides to be hard and soft at the same time.
Put him at Striker. Solve two problems.
The push for Ibra shows that management finally realizes that they made a mistake in firing Maldini WITHOUT having a similar REPLACEMENT presence lined up to take his place. Pioli is now on his own and cannot handle all of the pressure/criticizim that Maldini shielded him from whether it be from players, media, tactics, formations and transfers. Getting Ibra is a smart as Pioli cannot do it on his own. He needs an experienced presence like he had before – so we should def get him if he’s willing.
