CorSera: Pioli plans innovation in attack against Cagliari to rest key duo

By Oliver Fisher -

Confirmations continue to arrive regarding the news that Stefano Pioli will heavily rotate the team for this evening’s game against Cagliari at the Unipol Domus.

Pioli will have to manage the work load of the squad carefully given they are currently in a stretch of seven games in 22 days, with the likes of Lazio, Juventus, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain all still to play before the end of October.

According to this morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), there will be some ‘innovation in attack’ for Milan this evening against Cagliari, which includes rest time for Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leao.

The duo will initially start from the bench and it seems certain that Noah Okafor who will make his debut from the first minute with the Rossoneri in place of the Frenchman.

Then, Christian Pulisic will be diverted to the left side (arguably his favoured one) to replace Leao, and Samuel Chukwueze will slot in on the right to form an attacking trident made up of new signings.
