CorSera: Pioli to welcome back three key men for Sunday’s crucial game against Napoli

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli could welcome back three key players for Sunday’s game against Napoli at San Siro, according to a report.

Pioli had to make virtue of necessity at Old Trafford last night as Milan were without Theo Hernandez, Ismael Bennacer, Hakan Calhanoglu, Ante Rebic, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alessio Romagnoli and Mario Mandzukic for the game, which saw the likes of Rade Krunic, Soualiho Meite, Diogo Dalot and Brahim Diaz get the nod.

According to il Corriere della Sera (via MilanLive), Romagnoli, Theo Hernandez and Ante Rebic should return to the group and will be available for the match against Napoli. They are the closest to returning to the field as the captain was left out as a precaution, Theo had gastrointestinal problems and Rebic should have recovered from the hip inflammation.

However, there are doubts about whether Hakan Calhanoglu and Mario Mandzukic will play a part on Sunday. Both stopped due to minor muscle injuries, but the medical staff do not want to risk and will evaluate them before giving the nod.

Ismael Bennacer and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will certainly not be available, and their presence for the game against Manchester United is also in doubt.
