CorSera: Summer of manager appointments – Milan and Conte at the forefront

In the summer, we could see a lot of managerial changes in the football world. AC Milan are looking to replace Stefano Pioli, the likes of Antonio Conte and Tomas Tuchel are looking for new clubs, Jurgen Klopp will leave Liverpool and so on.

As highlighted by today’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), the summer will indeed offer a ‘manager revolution’ and Milan are involved as Pioli is expected to leave. But there are also many other examples, such as Xabi Alonso and Bayern Munich’s search for a new manager.

Conte is keen on returning to Italy after his Tottenham tenure came to an end in March last year, as the newspaper continues, but Milan are focusing on other profiles as things stand. The Italian will likely end up elsewhere, therefore, and this will also be very interesting to follow.

Thiago Motta, currently the manager of Bologna, remains one of the top candidates for Milan and this is something we have said since December on our Substack. Conte remains unlikely for various reasons and given Motta’s success with Bologna, one can understand the Rossoneri’s reasoning.

In the meantime, Pioli is aiming to finish his Milan tenure on a good note, currently in third place in the league and still competing for the Europa League trophy.
